Drive Green — RBC Next Great Innovator, First Place

Skills: C++, C#, Unity, Virtual Reality · View on Devpost ↗

DriveGreen is a Unity VR game built with C# to promote sustainable driving habits among teenagers. It was awarded $10,000 at the RBC Next Great Innovator hackathon for Most Innovative Hack.

The challenge set by RBC focused on leveraging data to build technology that empowers youth to make environmental change — addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We targeted climate action specifically, focusing on the transportation sector, which makes up 28% of total Canadian emissions.

DriveGreen uses its capabilities as a VR electric car driving simulator to educate and empower young drivers to drive sustainably — whether by choosing electric vehicles or by adopting driving practices that reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
